Everglades National Park, FL
The dry season in the Everglades exposes the ground that is usually underwater throughout the year. This photograph was taken in a cypress dome, a slightly deeper pond in the River of Grass where cypress trees can grow. The trees in the center have more water available so they grow taller than those at the edges. This creates a domelike appearance from the outside and a cathedral feeling when standing inside.
