This photograph was taken during a canoe trip down the Hillsborough River. This particular turn in the river caught my eye as I was gliding past. While I was setting up the camera a gunshot rang out from the woods! Then another! Then it sounded like rapid fire! In hindsight I probably should have ducked for cover but instead I peered through the swamp towards the sound. I watched as a massive and ancient cypress tree fell about 50 yards from where I stood.
