Finally I paddled the Hillsborough in the correct direction – upstream first! A good friend and I took to the calm waters of the Hillsborough at the tail end of low water season. So many things went right this particular day I just knew an image awaited us. Sure enough this scene emerged right around the river bend. The water was only inches deep and the sandy bottom is illuminated by the sun filtering through the cypress trees.
